"'Shade of Melancholy' is one of the best songs I've heard this year, by artists large or small. It's the track Ben Harper has waited his whole career to make, and by the end of its smoggy jazz exaltations that 'everything's gonna be all right,' you're guaranteed to believe it regardless of your mood." - Joe McCombs, Starpolish

About Shagg
Shagg is pop/rock with a touch of funky old soul, bringing together the sounds of classic R&B and modern songwriting. The septet's story started humbly with apartment rehearsals in Brooklyn, NYC, where they wrote most of their first songs with acoustic guitars. Two of the five songs from their first EP were named finalists in the 2000 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. In 2002, the band was selected by the editors of CMJ to compete for the Coca-Cola New Music Award, the unsigned artist category of Dick Clark's American Music Awards. "Buh Ba Ba Ba" is the band's first full-length recording, reflecting years of writing and performing.
